There are many ads online offering cheap laptops for sale. Sometimes they seem a bit hard to believe, with prices advertised in the $10-$30 range, for example. The question is how many of these ads are a scam, and how do you tell the difference between the scams and the legitimate deals? A good rule of thumb is that you get what you pay for, and if you are spending less then $50 on a laptop, you are very likely to get one that is filled with problems.
One customer of an online warehouse site, for example, received her cheap laptop shipped via DHL from China, and when she opened up the package there was a strong smell of gasoline. While the laptop did start up with Windows Vista, it was a "lite" version of Vista that was full of errors. So the best advice when looking for laptop deals online is: buyer beware.
