How to Speed Up Your Laptop Macintosh

The MacBook Air is one laptop Macintosh that is already incredibly speedy thanks to its solid state drive. The Air boots up, shuts down, and launches apps noticeably faster that other machines with traditional hard drives. But for those real speed freaks, there is a way to tweak your solid state drive to make it run even faster.
A simple app from Groths.org called TRIM Enabler will make it happen, but you must be running the latest version of Snow Leopard 10.6.7. You should also check to make sure that your driver is compatible with TRIM. To do this, you simply need to look up your drive's model under the Finder, open System Profiler and you will see the name and model of your solid state drive there. Then just Google: "drive name + TRIM" and you will be able to find out if it is compatible.
