It's been leaked that Acer will begin selling a Chrome OS mini laptop in June called the Acer Cromia C700. The device might miss Google's promised June 15th launch date by a week or two.

The next Acer Aspire One netbook will reportedly have a 1.86 GHz Intel Atom N2800 dual core processor, and it will be called the Acer Aspire One AOD270. There will also be an Acer Aspire One Happy model that is based on the AOD270, and features colorful new lid options. A new Acer Ferrari One model is also due out this year, called the Ferrari One F0300, and it is rumored to have an AMD Fusion processor. Of course, these reports are rumors and it remains to be seen how accurate they will turn out to be. The source has been reliable in the past, however, so there is a good chance these models will be surfacing soon.

Buying cheap laptops online provides a number of benefits, including better sales and discounts then you will find in local stores, and wider selection. One of the disadvantages, though, is that you often have to pay shipping and handling fees, and sometimes these can be quite costly. Stores that base their rates by weight will usually be less expensive than those that base rates on price.

It is best to look for free shipping, but this is sometimes easier said than done. There are several reliable websites for finding the cheapest laptops online, including Amazon.com, NewEgg.com, and Geeks.com. The advantage to Amazon.com is that they source from a wide variety of third-party sellers and they carry all the popular brands. NewEgg.com has a nice sorting system that allows you to filter results to different price ranges and brands. Geeks.com is a great place to buy cheap laptops because they are always having special sales and free shipping.

There are many ads online offering cheap laptops for sale. Sometimes they seem a bit hard to believe, with prices advertised in the $10-$30 range, for example. The question is how many of these ads are a scam, and how do you tell the difference between the scams and the legitimate deals? A good rule of thumb is that you get what you pay for, and if you are spending less then $50 on a laptop, you are very likely to get one that is filled with problems.

One customer of an online warehouse site, for example, received her cheap laptop shipped via DHL from China, and when she opened up the package there was a strong smell of gasoline. While the laptop did start up with Windows Vista, it was a "lite" version of Vista that was full of errors. So the best advice when looking for laptop deals online is: buyer beware.
